About Starbotton

Starbotton is a small limestone village 15 miles north of Skipton situated midway between Kettlewell and Buckden in the beautiful countryside of Upper Wharfedale. The area is renowned for spectacular walks, from the long distance Dales Way to shorter walks between Kettlewell and Buckden and many other circular walks.

It is an ideal base for visiting the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Perfect for a stay in Calendar Girls country and whilst doing the Dales Way!

Towns nearby include the old market towns of Skipton and Settle and the spa town of Harrogate.

Other local attractions include Kilnsey Trout Park, Stump Cross Caverns, Bolton Abbey Priory and Embsay Steam Railway.

Nearby is the River Wharfe where you can walk through ancient woodlands, past limestone crags to the high moorland fells and limestone pavements. The river is well-stocked with trout and grayling (day tickets are available).
